St. Thomas University Small University Fulfills Big Dreams

The average class size at STU is 31 students (max. 60), so you are able to be heard and develop close relationships with your professors and classmates. Students are encouraged to speak out, and participate in regular discussions with peers and professors in an intimate and relaxed setting.

Plenty of support
All new international students are met on arrival in Fredericton and provided an informative and fun orientation. Advisors are available to assist with transitioning to Canada and university, academic planning, and employment and grad school preparation.
St. Thomas has a range of different academic support services to provide students with the help they need. The Writing Centre helps studentsto improve their writing skills, and successfully prepare course work for submission. Each STU student is also given the option of accessing up to two hours of free peer tutoring every week.
International students are permitted to work on or off campus while studying full-time, allowing them to gain valuable work experience while earning some extra money. Students who choose to stay and work in New Brunswick (NB) after graduation and take advantage of the NB Tuition Rebate (up to $20,000).
Life beyond the classroom
St. Thomas also offers a great array of extra-curricular activities in such areas as debating, drama, journalism, community radio, or student government. In addition, social events and informal activities such as coffee houses and concerts liven up almost every evening and weekend.
St. Thomas offers five residence halls with over 850 places for students to choose from. Three are located in the centre of campus and two are a 15-minute walk from our main courtyard.
