BFF technical director Paul Smalley resigns

Bangladesh Football Federation(BFF) technical director Paul Smalley has resigned from his post on Saturday. 

Smalley has handed his letter of resignation to the governing body of football in the country. However, the board is yet to accept it.  

The 56-year-old had almost a year left of his contract with the BFF and was recently reported to be in negotiation with the BFF president Kazi Salahuddin over a substantial raise in salaries and benefits, which according to his recent-most contract, is around 16 lac taka per month.

BFF had already informed that the Englishman, who recently returned to Bangladesh following Eid vacation, would not be part of the latest assignment of Bangladesh Women's team -- which included FIFA friendlies against Nepal on July 13 and July 16 -- due to the ongoing negotiations over his contract. Sabina Khatun and Co. played out a 1-1 draw in the first FIFA friendly against Nepal.
