Bangladesh T20I and Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan says that even the players want to get back to cricketing activities as they hope that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the players will be able to come to a solution following the national cricketers' strike.

Barrister Mustafizur Rahman Khan, a supreme court lawyer, who was appointed by the cricketers as their spokesman, mentioned during a press conference at a local hotel in Gulshan today that the players should get a fair share of the revenue earned by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) from different tournaments.

The Federation of International Cricketers’ Association (FICA) has shown solidarity with the national and first-class domestic cricketers of Bangladesh with FICA chairman Tony Irish saying via a press release that the players’ strike was a ‘clear indication of the need for change in the way players are treated in what we regard as an important cricket country.’

According to BCB president Nazmul Hassan, players going on a sudden strike might have been a part of a conspiracy to destabilize Bangladesh cricket.

After leading Bangladesh cricketers went on strike yesterday and put forward an 11-point demand, which if not met will lead to their strike continuing, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) were expected to sit down for a board meeting in order to find a quick resolution. This morning, BCB directors were seen entering the BCB premises and all that could be surmised was that the BCB had called a board meeting. That did not turn out to be the case.

BCCI President-elect Sourav Ganguly is confident that the Bangladesh players will sort the issue with the board and play the upcoming T20I and Test series in India.
