Facing the Floods
Thanks a ton 'the Star Weekend' for publishing such an informative and investigative article (published on July 3, 2015) on Dhaka city's dilapidated water drainage system. I felt really good when I noticed that Bangladesh's star journalist Elita Karim, herself, wrote on this significant issue on behalf of the helpless citizens of Dhaka city. I am hopeful that her powerful writing will be able to grab our policy makers' attention to solve this problem on urgent basis. Otherwise it will be impossible for us to live in this city during this year's monsoon deluge.

The Platform for Intellectual Bangladesh
BBC Sanglap is one of my favourite TV programmes. But I didn't like the nature of the article titled "The Platform for Intellectual Bangladesh" published last week (July 3, 2015). To me, it looks like an advertisement piece. I agree that this programme has been creating a space for dialogue but this is exactly what these TV talk show programmes are supposed to do. I see no point of writing a full page article on a particular TV programme only for fulfilling its purpose? I expect more informative and entertaining articles from my favourite supplement, the Star Weekend.
