Media Ethics 101
When I read the article titled "Media Ethics 101" published in the Star Weekend on June 3, 2016 I got deeply shocked. Some of the most educated and responsible people of a nation are its journalists. Thanks to their observation and reporting, every part of our society can be careful about their duty as the journalists of any country have to do the difficult task of whistleblowers. However, it was very disappointing to see that our journalists have completely forgotten about this sense of responsibility. If our journalists do not respect and practice the minimum sense of ethics and responsibility in their profession then how can we expect that they will reveal and talk about the problems of our society? I would like to thank the writer for such a timely article about this significant issue.

Welcoming the Month of Blessings
Ramadan is the turning point in our life. Once in every 9th month of the lunar year, Allah, the most gracious and merciful, bestows His servants with a month long blessings to seek His forgiveness. We should ask and beg Him to forgive all the sins that we have committed through remembering Him day and night through daylong fasting, prayers, recitation of the holy Qur'an and giving charity. It should not be the practice that we only worship during this sacred month but keep continuing all the year round during our life term on this mundane world for a better and most rewarding life in the hereafter.

Bangladesh's Untapped Treasure
I was astonished after reading the article by Md. Shahnawaz Khan Chandan, titled "Bangladesh's Untapped Treasure" (published on May 27, 2016) and thought for a moment – how poorly our postal department has been performing for years. It is very appalling that our government allocated 520 corers Tk in 2014-15 whereas the revenue earned by this department was only 253 corers. We should follow the developed country like UK and USA as their postal service introduced 170 new products to its citizens such as issuing citizen cards, telephony service etc. I would like to especially thank the Star Weekend and the writer for such informative article which showed the real picture of an important department of our country.
