Hatirjheel Reeks
I would like to thank the Star Weekend for publishing such an informative article about the bad condition of Hatirjheel (published on September 4, 2015) . I stay in Begunbari just opposite to the lake of Hatirjheel and life is unbearable here. It seems like we are all living inside a massive garbage dump. Stink from the lake and swarms of mosquitoes have devastated our lives. I wonder what steps our city corporations are planning to take to relieve us from this hell.

My Way or the Highway
In my boyhood, I was interested in electronic devices. Electric shocks were very
usual to me. Everyone thought I would be an engineer. When I grew up, I became interested in movies. I used to watch a lot of Hindi, Bengali and English commercial and art films. Then making a quality Bengali movie became my dream. Although I am a Physics graduate now, my dream is still with me and I am looking for opportunities to turn it into reality. I wish all the talented youths of our country could take up their profession according to their interest. The print and electronic media are working well to inspire the youths towards unconventional ways of successful career. Thanks to M H Haider for his directional writing (published in September 4, 2015).

A Note of Thanks
The private university students went into raptures as the cabinet-meeting headed by PM Sheikh Hasina revoked the 7.5 percent vat imposed on private universities. The four-day long sit-in programme in the city streets finally culminated with the withdrawal of the 7.5 percent vat. With the slogan "No Vat on Education", students showed their highest patience in carrying out the movement non-violently and therefore not a single car or any other establishments were damaged. The non-violent movement by the private university students created history. Thanks to the Star Weekend for covering this movement extensively.
