The Meaning of Independence
The caption of the magazine's snapshot (dated March 27, 2015) mentions a very inspiring quote by Bangabandhu where he tells us to preserve our independence. But now forty four years since our victory over Pakistan, the question still comes to my mind whether we are independent yet? Violent political activities, riots and hartals have made the lives of common citizens like me so insecure that sometimes I think we have failed to preserve our independence.

Brave Hearts
Bangladesh is not only the name of a country but also the name of an achievement. It is the name that we achieved in exchange for a sea of blood. From the dark night of 25th March, Pakistanis were thirsty for the blood of freedom loving Bengalis. Our people were brutally killed, women were raped, and the whole land was burned and destroyed. Ultimately, we won against injustice and won independence. We owe our independence to those 3 million martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our liberation.

War through Words
Charampatra is an amazingly unique part of our historic struggle during the Liberation War of 1971. It was highly successful in boosting the morale of our freedom fighters and its very original form of presentation has given it a high literary value. But it is unfortunate that no audio version of Charampatra commentary can be found these days. Like the songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendro, can't we preserve it and circulate it among the young generation?
