Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg meets with leaders of the European Parliament today to answer questions about how the data of millions of Facebook users ends up in the hands of a political consultancy.

The psychologist behind an app that harvested data from up to 87 million Facebook users defends his role in the scandal, saying he "never heard a word" of opposition from the social media giant.
