Two Chinese coal mining executives have been sacked after an underground accident killed 21 people, Xinhua news agency says.

Seventeen Chinese coal miners were killed when a lift used to move workers fell down a shaft, state media reports, the latest deadly mishap in the country's accident-prone coal-mining industry.
