Launches Farmers' Card, pledges farmer support, canal excavation, and women’s empowerment initiatives

22,065 farmers each received Tk 2,500 in their mobile wallets

Around 21,000 farmers in 11 upazilas across the country will receive “Farmers’ Cards” through Sonali Bank in the pre-pilot phase of the new government scheme, according to finance ministry sources.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s development strategy of putting people first is a breath of fresh air.

The Farmers’ Card will be launched on a pre-pilot basis by April 14 this year, with around 25,000 farmers in nine upazilas of eight districts set to get the benefit.
