Movie producer Harvey Weinstein is indicted on Wednesday on charges of rape and a criminal sexual act, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance says, the first case to emerge from a slew of sexual misconduct allegations against him.

The New York City Police Department says it has a credible narrative from an unidentified woman who has made a rape allegation against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and is gathering evidence for a possible arrest warrant.
