Bangladesh received a last-minute wake-up call ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy after their batting fell apart and led to a seven-wicket loss in their lone warm-up match against Pakistan Shaheens at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Monday.

If Bangladesh indeed win the title, and in the process win two of their group stage matches, they would bag a whopping 29.196 crore taka from the event ($2,240,000+125,000+68,000 = $2,433,000).

This will be the first time in 18 years that Bangladesh will play in an ICC event without both Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the three ODIs against the West Indies, with Najmul Hossain Shanto and batter Towhid Hridoy missing out owing to injuries.

Middle-order batter Shahadat Hossain Dipu was named as replacement for skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto in Bangladesh’s 15-member squad for the two-match Test series against the West Indies, a Bangladesh Cricket Board press release confirmed today.  

The first Test will be played in Antigua from November 22 and the second match will take place in Jamaica from November 30.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto is set to miss the series-deciding third ODI against Afghanistan today and also the forthcoming two-Test series against the West Indies owing to a groin strain, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) informed through a media release today.

"To be very honest I'm not happy. Probably I have to bat a bit longer because the wicket was difficult against spin," Shanto, who scored a 119-ball 76, said at the post-match presentation
