Businesses today agreed to implement the government’s instruction to go for zone-wise weekly shut down of industries to save electricity and continue production in mills and factories.

Physical infrastructure needs to be built and the capacity and efficiency of the workforce should be enhanced to implement the Delta Plan the government has taken for economic growth and climate resilience, analysts said today.

Businesses today expressed concern over the production in the industrial units because of the ongoing load-shedding, low gas pressure and high energy price.

A separate authority should be established to approve the structural design to ensure building safety, said Md Jashim Uddin, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
