Music runs in her blood. After being initiated to Rabindra Sangeet by her musician father, Kakoli Dewan enrolled at the Chittagong Shongeet Porishod to further her interest in music. From 1974 to 1983 she performed regularly on radio before shifting base to Saudi Arabia. She returned to Chittagong in 2003 and has resumed her active participation on radio. This week the Star speaks to the talented radio artist about her favourite musicians, significant achievements and much more.

One Quality that Aspiring Singers must Have
Patience and endurance. Singers must be prepared to practice a lot and be diligent about it. That's the first and most important quality every singer must possess.

Significant Achievement
When I was in Saudi Arabia, I used to teach music to children living there. I think that this is my greatest achievement, as I was able to inculcate a love of music in young kids.
