1 MINUTE PLEASE!
You wouldn't think that a civil engineer would leave promising prospects of working with esteemed firms to pursue his lifelong passion for music, would you? Avipriyo Chakraborty did just that. In his debut album, Avipriyo Ebong Murchhona, released under Incursion Music last month, the young talent worked as a composer and singer. The Star spoke to the gifted musician about his biggest challenge, favourite singers and much more.
Childhood Dream
I have always dreamt of being a physicist.
The Biggest Challenge that You've Faced So Far
To follow my passion of being a musician was the biggest challenge for me. After my graduation in civil engineering, I could pursue my career with a high paying conventional job, but I preferred to prioritize music and not let any other excuses stand on my way of being a musician.
Your First Guru
I got my basic training in classical music and Nazrul Sangeet from Pintu Ghosh in Chittagong.
If you Could Change one Thing about Dhaka
If I could change one thing about Dhaka, I would bring the Buriganga River back to life. I often wish of having a river somewhere around Dhaka where we could go and just sit, enjoying the peace and serenity.
A Dream Yet to be Fulfilled
Someday I want to compose and write songs that will be able to reflect the philosophy of my life.
Favourite Singers in Bangladesh
Bappa Mazumdar and Arnob
