10 held in Bagerhat double murder

Armed miscreants shot dead Amiyo Boiragi, 30 and Nani Gopal, 35, while they were taking tea at a grocery at Bottala square in the village.

The arresred are Rampad Bala, Swandip Kumar Roy, Prashanta, Sontosh Sarkar, Kalidas Roy, Debobrat Roy, Jiban Kumar, Badal Roy, Ashim, Lakhan Biswas.

Quoting witnesses police said the miscreants came to the spot through the Kendua Bil, an open water body, and left the scene after killing them.

Noni Gopal died on the spot and Amiyo Boiragi succumbed to his injuries on way to local thana health complex.

Being informed, Fakirhat police reached the spot and sent the bodies to Bagerhat Sadar hospital for autopsy.

Fakhirhat thana police told BSS that both the victims were FIR-listed accused in the murder of policeman Kuddus in Fakhirhat area and they were released on bail recently.

Police said the double murder was a sequel to internal feud among outlaws.

Sandhya Rani Mondal, wife of Nani Gopal filed a murder case with Fakirhat police station in this connection.

Additional DIG Khulna Range, Nabo Bikram Kishore Tripura, Deputy commissioner and SP Bagerhat visited the spot.
