AL blames BNP

The district Awami League (AL) has blamed BNP for the August 29 attack on four villages in Chartarapur union in Pabna district.

Addressing a press conference at the party office in the town on Monday, AL leaders alleged that 'criminals' backed by the ruling party looted goods, beat up youths and torched 91 houses in Goailbari, Daspara,Chukdarpara and Khapravangi villages.

They claimed that local BNP is blaming AL for the incident to divert people's attention.

They demanded judicial probe into the incident and demanded compensation for the victims from the government and deployment of police in the villages as the 'criminals' are threatening the local people now.

The AL leaders also demanded withdrawal of 'false cases' filed against local AL leaders and threatened of tougher movement for non-compliance.

Saidul Hoque Chunnu, Samsul Hoque Tuku, Moshrraf Hossain and Abul Kalam Azad addressed the press conference.
