Six chargesheeted in Manzurul murder case

The accused are Shukur Gazi, an alleged member of Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP); Selim Sarder, former chairman of Gouramva Union Parishad in Rampal Upazila'; his wife Jharna Begum; son Rajiv Sarder; younger brother Imam Sarder and Shirin Sultana.

Selim Sarder and Imam Sarder are absconding.

SI Faruque of Khulna thana, investigation officer of the two cases filed in connection with the murder, submitted the charge sheets Thursday afternoon with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court.

Manzurul Imam and rickshawpuller Shahid were killed at Mirzapur in the city in a bomb attack when the AL leader was going to court in the morning of August 25.

Police arrested alleged PBCP activist Shukur Gazi, Rajiv Sarder and Shirin Sultana from Tootpara area of the city on the night of August 25 suspecting their involvement in the murders.

Police recovered from them a USA-made gun, four bullets and 30 PBCP posters.
