Police drives failed as SI leaked info for money
In his confession, he said NBCP got advance information about police operations from senior Sub-inspector Nazi-muddin that made police raids futile. Nazimuddin of Keshabpur police station used to take money from NBCP every month, Haider told First Class Magistrate Ashoke Kumar Debnath. He also confessed to his direct participation in five murders. The income of NBCP is over Tk 20 lakh a month, realised through extortion. Nazimuddin used to get his share as per contract for being a source of NBCP. He was paid Tk one lakh for helping NBCP cadre Asmat Ali, a suspect in the robbery at Keshabpur Janata Bank. Asmat escaped from police custody on March 9, Haider said. When contacted, the Jessore police superintendent said an inquiry will be conducted and action will be taken against Nazimuddin if he is found guilty.
