3 car lifters caught

They are Fazlul Haque of Katabaria village in Kishoreganj, Shahidul Islam of Jigarhati in Madaripur and Jaseir of Parirkhal in Barguna district. Another gang member, Liton of Mymensingh, escaped.

The four are residents of Baddah in Dhaka, police said.

The four had hired a pick-up van from one Md Selim in Dhaka at Tk 4000 to go to Mymensingh. At the vehicle reached Bailor Mathbari, they tried to make the driver unconscious by using medicine to take control of the vehicle.

As the driver screamed, people nearby came and caught three of the gang and handed them over to police.

A case has been lodged with Trishal thana.
