A laudable job by RDRS
The couples had fallen apart after feuds over dowry and other family matters, sources in RDRS said. Many of them were preparing for divorce.
The tremendous job was done by women workers of the organisation working in 260 unions in six districts of northern region.
They did this by convincing the husbands and wives. All the couples are living happily, the sources said.
The organisation was set up in 1972 at Thakurgaon under the name of Rangpur Dinajpur Rehabilitation Services for rehabilitation of destitute and war ravaged people of greater Rangpur and Dinajpur districts. Its head quarters was in Geneva.
It was later renamed Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Services. It stated other voluntary work including medical services to rural people.
