He was 52.

He left behind wife, three daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. His Namaj-e-Janaza was held at 11 in the morning on the town hall premises. The body was then taken to the press club where club executives and journalist union leaders placed wreaths. He was buried at his village home at Nalchhity in Jhalokathi. His death cast a pall of gloom all over the divisional city.
