Mason killed by 'outlaws' for toll

Police said Sultan, 26, son of Madon Howlader of Santoshpur in Mehendiganj upazila, was picked up from Sarikal area in Gournadi allegedly by members of Zia Group as he informed the local Union Parishad chairman that the outlaws demanded toll from him.

He died on way as police were taking him to Babuganj Upazila Health Complex.

In another incident, Maksud Alam, 45, a notorious dacoit from Maheshkhali in Cox's Bazar and chief of Maksud Bahibi, was slaughtered allegedly by opponents belonging to Siddik Bahini at Natun Hat Bazar in Char Samaia union in Bhola Sadar upazila Wednesday night.
