Attack on AL leader: 11 suspects held
Eleven persons were arrested as suspects of a gun attack on an Awami League (AL) leader at Noapara on Monday. Abhoynagar upazila Awami League President Principal Abdul Wahab, also a former upazila chairman was severely injured in the attack.
Principal Wahab was operated upon twice by Dr Mahbubur Rahman at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday night.
According to family sources, he is now out of danger, according to the attending doctors.
Principal Wahab was shifted to DMCH from Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) on Tuesday where his condition deteriorated.
Abhynagar thana officer-in-charge (OC) told this correspondent vigorous investigation is going on although none lodged any complaint.
Khulna city and district Awami League protested the attack by holding a rally on Wednesday.
