2 killed by husbands

Police said Hosne Ara (Polly), 26, mother of two children, was beaten to death allegedly by her husband Abdur Rahim at Deara village in Kalaroa upazila.

The victim's brother Rafiqul Islam told police that his sister was killed for Tk 10,000 dowry.

Police sent the body to Satkhira hospital for autopsy.

Another pregnant housewife, Taslima Khatun, 20, was killed allegedly by her husband Abdul Mannan at Danga Nalfa village in Tala upazila, also for dowry.
