Khulna OC faces case for 'killing outlaw' in custody

The court has ordered Khulna thana to record the case properly.

At a press conference in the city on Saturday, Razia Begum alleged that the accused were threatening her with death after filing of the case.

"I am feeling insecure to go to Khulna thana with the (CMM) court order to file the case", Razle Bagum said.

Rezia Begum alleged that OC Mosharef Hossain has concocted a story that her son died in crossfire in which five police officers were injured.

"My son was shot dead by police after arrest" she alleged.

When asked, DC (south) Akbar Ali and OC Mosharef Hossain of Khulna thana refuted the allegation that arrested 'outlaw' Raja Chow-dhury was shot dead by police.

"He died in a crossfire when police came under attack by cadres of PBCP (M-L) during operation to recover arms", Akbar Ali said.

The OC also refuted the allegation of threat brought against police by Rezia Begum.

"None from Khulna thana threatened to kill the other sons of Razia Begum.

"I am bound to comply with court order to record any case. But till 5 pm (Saturday) none come to Khulna thana with court order to file a case in connection with the death of the dreaded terrorist Raja Chowdhury", OC Moshareft said.

Meanwhile, sources claimed that alleged outlaw Raja Chowdhury was disowned by his father Mintoo Chowdhury for his alleged acts of crime.

Many businessmen of Ahsan Ahmed Road and Shamsur Rahman Road in the city alleged that 'outlaw' Raja was involved in the murder of Touhid and Monir on February 8 this year.

Many shop owners in the area seeking anonymity told this correspondent that they had no alternative to paying him toll to save their life. He used to give them death threats when they refused to pay toll, they said.
