13 injured in Gaffargaon clash
Thirteen persons including several women were injured, four of them seriously, in a clash over a trifle matter at Chorshakhasra village in Gaffargaon upazila, Mymensingh on Friday.
Police and witnesses said, Abdul Khaleque and Lalmia of the village had an altercation. At one stage Khaleque beat Lalmia. As the news spread, Lalmia's supporters rushed the spot equipped with lethal weapons. Khaleque's men also arrived and retaliated.
The injured are Mohammad Lalmia, Mosammat Fatema Begum, Mohammad Shahjahan, Md Shahabuddin, Md Kazimuddin, Monwara Khatun, Ashek Ali, Khosnahar, Firoja Khatun, Ashraf Uddin and three other unidentified persons.
Seriously injured four Lalmia, Fatema Begum, Shahabudin and Ashraf Uddin were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Lalmia's condition is stated to be very critical.
Two separate cases were filed with Gaffargaon police station.
