Most schools in Mymensingh run without headmaster

Those schools are being run by assistant headmasters or in-charge headmasters, hampering academic and administrative activities.

Even the posts of headmaster and assistant headmaster are vacant in Government Laboratory School and Biddyamoyi Government Girls High School at Mymensingh town, official sources said.

Similar is the case with a good number of reputed government schools at district headquarters. These include Bindubashini Government Girls High School, Bindubashini Government Boys Hich School, Sherpur Victoria Academi, Sherpur Government Girls High School, Mohonganj Government Pilot School, Kendua Joyhori Government High School, Kishoreganj Government Boyas igh School and Santoosh Government High School.

The schools with vacant posts of headmaster include Netrakona Government Girls High School, Durgapur Government Boys High School, Durgapur Government Girls High School, Government SB Girls High School, Nandail Chandipasha Government High School, Gaffargaon Islamia Government High School, Jamalpur Zilo School, Melandaha Government Girls High School, Bakshigonj Ulfatunnacha Government Girls High School, Dewangonj Government Girls High School and Balijuri Rowshonra Govt Girls High School in Jamalpur district.

A high official of the education department told this correspondent recently that that they sent reports to higher authorities several times for appointment of the teachers but to no effect.
