Use derelict ponds to supply drinking water
Khulna Nagorik Forum seminar told
Speakers of a day-long seminar on Friday organised by Khulna Nagorik Forum stressed the need for re-excavation and maintenance of derelict ponds in the district to meet the growing demand for pure drinking water.
They also urged the people to come forward to save the city from environment pollution.
President over by its convener Shaikh Abdul Kayum, the seminar was addressed by, among others, Khulna University Associate Professor Dr Dilip Kumar Dutta and Nagorik Forum member-secretary Rafiqul Islam Khokon.
The speakers also underscored the need proper maintenance of playgrounds, recreation centres and places of historic interest.
