BNP front leader gets 17 yrs RI in arms case
Mawlana Abu Noman Muhammad Safiullah, president of Bhola district Jatioatabadi Ulama Dal, a front of ruling BNP, has been given 17 years imprisonment for keeping an illegal firearm.
Bhola District and Sessions Judge Abdul Kuddus Mia convicted him on Sunday under Section 19(Ka and Cha) of the Arms Act.,
Mawlana Safiullah was arrested from room No. 11 of Need Mahal hotel with a revolver with out license on September 2, 2001 in Bhola town.
