Tala BNP leader murder case sent to CID

The Tala thana BNP leader Altaf Hossaina murder case was transferred to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Sunday for investigation.

Altaf, former president of Tala than BNP along with another person was killed in a bomb attack at Patkelghata bazaar on May 4 night.

Abdur Rahman of village Senpur, locally known as an opponent of Altaf, filed case with Tala thana as the family of the slain leader refrained from filing nay case.

Police arrested ten persons but could not find any clue to the murder.

Altaf's wife earlier talking to newsmen alleged that police was playing a "mysterious role" in investigation of the case.

On contact, Tala thana Officer-in-Charge Mashiul Islam refuted the allegation and said the case has been transferred to CID for further investigation.

The arrested persons are Jubo Dal leaders Sheikh Mostofa Montu and Mostafizur Rahman, Awami League leader Abdul Ahad, Kazi Hillol, Santosh Singh, Debendra Nath Biswas, Prakash Sarkar, Sabuj Kumar, Palash Sarkar and Abdus Selim.
