Woman UP member held on murder charge
A woman Union Parishad (UP) member was arrested by Uzirpur Thana police on Monday as a suspect of Jalla UP chairman Aboni Bhushan Baroi murder.
The arrested UP member is Jharna Roy,40.
Murdered Aboni was also an active leader of Awami League (AL) and outlawed Sarbahara Party.
Police claimed, Jharna had enmity with Aboni. Her name was included as one of the six suspects of the murder.
Popular Aboni Baroi was elected twice the UP chairman of Jalla UP. An armed gang murdered him by chopping and gunshot on May 23 this year.
