The detective branch (DB) of police could not bring out any important information from accused Iqbal Ahmed Bulbul about the triple murder case of Minesota state in USA after three days of his remand here.

He remained mum most of the time during interrogation, police told this correspondent.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of DB police here Nilotpal Dey took Bulbul on five days' remand on Tuesday.

Though Bulbul was taken on remand following allegations of extortion and liaison with the outlawed Sarbohara Party, yet he was interrogated about the triple murder case abroad, according to DB police.

Bulbul said to police he came back to Bangladesh on September 22 in 1999. He came to know about the murder case after two months of his arrival in Bangladesh.

However, a police source said he wants his interrogation at the joint interrogation cell at Dhaka.

Bulbul allegedly returned to Bangladesh after killing his wife, sister-in-law and her minor son at Minesota state in USA in 1999.

After a long time, Barisal police arrested Bulbul from his village home at Lohalia in Babuganj upazila on July 1.

After the killing a case was filed in Minesota court. Following DNA test and other investigations Bulbul's wife Mary, his sister-in-law Sophia and her son Ayan were identified by Minesota state police. Afterwards 'Interpole' took up the case.
