Rajshahi traders for withdrawal of VAT

They staged a sit-in demonstration, formed a human chain and held a meeting in front of Rajshahi New Market to press for realisation of their demands.

The strike was called under the banner of Rajshahi Shop Owners' Association (Rsoa).

All the business houses remained closed during the strike period.

A meeting was held with Rsoa president Nurunnabi Lulu in the chair, while its general secretary Golam Sarwar Swapon and engineer Tajul Islam spoke, among others, in the meeting.
