Complainant abducted by accused in Satkhira

The victim is Shahnaz Khatun, 26, wife of Daud Ali, police said to this correspondent.

Shahnaz filed the case in September, 2003 accusing Manirul Islam, 32, son of Alamgir Gazi and Mofizul Islam, 30, son of Rahim Gazi of Jugikhali village in Kalaroa upazila for torturing her after failing to make illicit love with her.

On the fateful day, a group of miscreants led by Manirul and Mofizul attacked Daud Ali's house at the aforementioned village and abducted Shahnaz. As a result, she could not appear before the court on the fixed date of trial. Since then Shahnaz was missing.

During the attack, Daud Ali was injured seriously by the abductors as he resisted them. He was shifted to Kalaroa hospital in a serious condition.

The court issued warrant of arrest against the accused.
