Five Jubo League Leaders get life for murder
Five Jubo League leaders were sentenced to life term rigorous imprisonment (RI) in a verdict announced by Additional Sessions Judge of Nilphamari Md Jahidul Islam on Tuesday in the sensational Jewel murder case.
The convicts are Dimla upazila Jubo League president Sailen Chandra Roy, vice president Abu Hossain, organisiang secretary Mozaharul Islam Liton, publicity secretary Shah Alam and sports secretary Guru Das.
The judge also fined each of them Tk 20,000, in default, to suffer two years' RI more.
The convicts killed Jubo League leader Ziaul Huq Jewel with sharp weapons in a feud over formation of Dimla upazila Rasel Memorial Committee and centering a club house at night on March 30. Victim's father Abul Kashem filed a murder case with the respective thana accusing the aforementioned five convicts the next day.
