"Affected farmers need seed, fertiliser and loan now to recover from flood, but are not getting these", Ershad said while distributing relief at Nasirnagar on Friday. He spoke briefly at a public meeting organised by JP Party on the occasion.

Held at Dharmandal Eidgah ground, the meeting was presided over by JP Nasnagar upazila leader Razoan Ahmed and addressed by, among other, by JP Secretary General Rahul Amin Hawlader, Presidium Member Safiul Azam Pradan, Brahmanbaria district president Sadim Mia Master, Secretary Abdul Wahid Khan Lablu, advocate Amirul Haque Taher, Gulam Mahmud Razu, Ziaul Haque Sarker, Purba Bhag Union Parishad Chairman Md Habubur Rahman and Md Bashir Ahmed.

After the meeting, JP distributed 4000 kg rice among 1000 flood affect people in Dharmandal union.

Many mills and factories have been closed since takeover by the present government while new investments are not being made because of law and order situation, Ershad said.

"Terrorism has engulfed the country", he said.

"If I can go to power, I will crush terrorists within three months", he said.

Criticising Awami League (AL), Ershad alleged that while in power it also tried to liquidate his party.

"Allah has saved me and my party. Rather Awami League has been voted out of power by people", he says.

People have tested both BNP and AL and will place JP in power in the next election, the former president said.
