Students are continuing their class boycott programme at Patuakhali Polytechnic Instititute since August 12.

They are boycotting classes demanding removal of their principal Dr Khan Rezaul Karim for his alleged involvement in various corrupt practices.

Students are bringing out processions on the campus everyday demanding fulfillment of their demand.

They alleged that the principal collected Tk 30,000 from them with a promise to construct a bicycle shed on the campus. But he did not take any step to construct the same. As a result, by-cycles most frequently are being stolen from the campus.

Students further alleged, Dr Khan Rezaul Karim did not solve the chronic problem of teachers' crisis, rather he misbehaved with them when they urged him to redress their grievances.

They complained, he deprived them of the facility of E-mail service. He disagreed their proposal to supply mobile phone sets at their practical classes. They alleged, the principal personally uses the mobile phone set bought officially by the college money.

On contact, the principal refuted all the allegations brought against him, rather he said, 'I am trying my best for the welfare of the students and the institution'.
