79 condemned convicts in Jessore jail

A Correspondent, Jessore
There are 79 convicts including a woman in Jessore Central Jail who were condemned to death.

Five of them are expected to be hanged within a month because their prayers for pardon were rejected by the President. They include two brothers from Chuadanga, convicted in a murder case over a land dispute. There is one each from Narail, Magura and Jhenidah, convicted in Women and Children Repression Control Act.

Meanwhile, another condemned convict Mukul of Narail was hanged on Wednesday night for killing his wife.

However, the condemned cell of this jail should be expanded immediately because all the condemned convicts of Jessore zone huddle here.
