Bogra RDA discusses ways to spread technology

The Centre for Irrigation and Water Management (CIWM) Project arranged the workshop.
Director General (DG) of RDA Mohammed Abdul Haque was the chief guest at the opening session, presided over Mohammed Fazlul Haque.
At least 75 people including officials, experts and grassroots level peoples representatives from districts including Cox's Bazar, Sirajganj, and Barisal attended the workshop.
The chief guest informed the workshop that World Bank (WB) appreciated the newly introduced low-cost arsenic treatment plant designed by scientist and RDA Joint Director Abdul Matin.
The technology is going to be introduced in other member countries of CIRDAP (Center for Integrated Rural Development in Asia Pacific).
CIWM Project Director Matin said, the technology is being used by people in some areas of the country and requests from government and NGOs for supply of more are pending.
Matin said, under the project, the RDA installs plants with multipurpose deep tubewells which provide irrigation and arsenic-free water to villagers at a cheaper rate.
