10 held by Rab with arms
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested 10 suspected outlaws along with arms from Gayespur village in Pabna Sadar upazila in a pre-dawn raid on Saturday.
The arrested persons are Abdur Rouf, Pinu, Abdul Hannan, Abdul Khaleque, Hasan, Helal Uddin, Abdus Salam, Rezaul Islam, Saiful Islam, Babul and Nayan.
The recovered arms and ammunition include two foreign revolvers, two SBBL guns, two rifles, 15 machetes, two Chinese axes and 72 bullets.
Rab sources said that they were also involved in highway robbery, killing and extortion.
Tipped off, the elite forces from Rajshahi raided the house of Abdur Rouf at 3:00 am when the gang was holding a meeting.
A case has been filed with Pabna Sadar police station and they are being interrogated, police said yesterday.
