'Outlaw' among 4 killed in a day

Two of them were killed in Kushtia and one each in Chuadanga and Jhendah.

In Kushtia town, three brothers --Aktar, Majnu and Rajnu-- beat their youngest brother Zohurul alias Chenta, 19, when he was beating their mother Rowsonara as she refused to give him money for buying drug. Critically injured Chentu died in the evening, police said.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.

In another incident, Daulatpur police recovered the body of an unidentified youth from the Padma river. The youth was wearing a jeans pant. The youth was slaughtered, police said.

Chuadanga police said, activists of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) killed Abdur Rahman, 40, belonging to rival Janjuddho faction of the party at Juranpur village in Jibonnagar upazila.

Sources said, the killers stormed into his house, took him to a field and shot him dead in the early hours of Friday. Police recovered the body and sent it to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

PBCP-ML in a statement claimed responsibility for the killing to avenge the murder of three of its activists including a woman on Wednesday.

In Jhenidah, villagers beat a suspected thief to death at

Ektarpur in Kaliganj upazila. The victim was identified as Sahajahan, 25, son of Abdur Rab of Goaispur village.

Police recovered the body and arrested one Alim after the victim's son filed a case Kaliganj police accusing 12 people.
