3 cops suspended, 5 'closed' for beating man, boy

The boy-- Hitlar, 10, is being treated at Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.

The suspended persons are Asaduzzaman, Kamruzzaman and Masud Rana and those 'closed' are Ramjan, Nurul Alam, Shamsuddin, Abdul Matin and Nurul Islam.

Sources said that driver Sadeque Sikder, also secretary of Motor Workers Union, while driving a bus hit a motorcycle in the town. Some policemen then beat him. In the melee, Hitler was injured.

As this created public resentment, action was taken against the policemen involved in the incident, the sources said.
