12 hurt in JCD-ICS clash in Satkhira
At least 12 people including the officer-in charge (OC) of Assassuni thana, a constable and a college teacher were injured during a clash between activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) on Sunday.
The injured persons are Assassuni thana OC Forkan Shikdar, Constable Azmal Hossain, Assassuni College teacher Rafiqul Islam and JCD leaders Mizan, Palash and Golam Rasul.
Rafiqul Islam has been admitted to Satkhira Islamia Community Hospital.
Quoting local people, police said the clash was sequel to a brawl between some JCD and Shibir activists on Saturday over a love affairs that left two Shibir men injured.
As leaders and activists of JCD brought out a procession on Sunday, Shibir activists attacked them while the procession was crossing Assassuni bazar area.
The police men were injured when they tried to stop the clash.
