Withdrawal of OC demanded
Assassuni thana Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student front of ruling BNP, brought out a procession and held a rally on Tuesday demanding withdrawal of the officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station for releasing two Jamaat-e-Islami activists arrested earlier for attacking a JCD leader. Police had arrested Shukur and Abdus Salam but released them following alleged pressure from local Jamaat lawmaker Maulana Raisat Ali, sources claimed. The JCD activists also condemned the attack on JCD leader Montu, who was admitted to Satkhira hospital.
