Human chain for arrest of housemaid's killers
Rajshahi Women Repression Prevention Committee yesterday formed a human chain in the city's Laxmipur area demanding punishment to the alleged killers of housemaid Noor Banu.
Members of different human rights organisations and professional bodies, lawyers, journalists and student leaders joined the human chain.
Noor Banu was allegedly killed at the house of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) engineer Asharaful Alam Mithu on September 13 and the body was buried hurriedly, saying that she committed suicide.
The body was exhumed on September 16 and the autopsy report said she was strangled.
