Extortion in name of Rab

In another incident, a gang of dacoits identifying themselves as Rab members looted valuables from three houses in Uzirpur upazila

Habul, 24, and Mustafa, 26, were beaten by a mob as they attempted to collect money in the name of Rab from Narayan Chandra Dum, a commercial artist at Kalibari Road.

RAB team rescued the two and handed over them to Barisal Kotwali police.

Narayan Chandra Dum lodged a case with Kotwali police station.

In the other incident on Friday night, dacoits identifying themselves as Rab personnel looted about Tk one lakh in cash and valuables from three houses at Varshakati village in Uzirpur upazila.
