AL men's houses ransacked by BNP activists in Kushtia
The incident followed death of JCD (Jatyitabadi Chhatra Dal) leader Abu Hanif at village Uttarchadpur in Kumarkhali upazila.
Unidentified attackers allegedly belonging to an outlawed party killed the organising secretary of JCD, Jodubaira union, Abu Hanif, 26, son of Alim Uddin Shiekh in a feud over Dakua Beel (water body) on November 10.
Local BNP men thought the murder was committed by AL activists. On the following day they took revenge by rampaging the villagers houses.
The damaged houses belonged to Abdul Alim, Helal Uddin, Akal Udddin, Jalal Uddin, Sirajul Islam, Lutfor Rahman, Motahar, Monohor Ali, Chad Ali, Atahar and Suruj.
Abdullah, brother of slain JCD leader filed a case with Kumarkhali police station accusing 26 villagers and AL leaders and activists.
The accused persons are fleeing homes to evade physical torture and police arrest.
