Protest meets at RU

Progressive Students' Alliance paraded the campus streets wearing black masks. They demanded realisation of their six-point demand.

Their demands include removal of Vice Chancellor, Proctor and Taposhi Rabeya Hall provost, release of 54 students accused in criminal cases and withdrawal of police from the campus.

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Bangladesh Chhatra League also ignored the embargo on holding meeting and procession.

Islamic Chhatra Shibir too brought out a protest procession and held a rally in front of the central library under banner of 'General Students' Council'.

The authorities banned meetings and processions on the campus following apprehension of violence on October 23 after 23 days of unscheduled closure.
