3 Rab members hurt in attack by people
Three members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) were injured in an attack by a group of people at the Biswa Road crossing on Dhaka-Sylhet highway Thursday night.
Police said the group attacked the Rab team following an altercation over buying cigarette by a member of the team from a shop.
The injured Rab members are AB Masud, Mojibur Rahman and Zahidul Islam.
The Rab team, led by SSI AB Al-Amin of Rab-3, was going to Dhaka after completing training at Shamshernagar in Moulvibazar district.
Police later arrested five persons from the spot. They are Nizamuddin, Jasimuddin, Abul Kalam Bhuiyan, Jahangir Alam and Motiur Rahman.
Rab SSI AB Al-Amin filed a case with Brahmanbaria thana under the Speedy Trial Act accusing 11 people.
